Metal Form Group commenced business in 1969 under its original name of BMH Australia Pty Ltd. It consisted of three partners with drafting services as its predominant business.
Since that time the company has seen a steady growth progressing through various different sites in outer eastern Melbourne until its present 10,000 m² site located in Knoxfield Victoria.
The toolmaking and metal stamping capabilities of Metal Form Group continued to keep abreast of technological changes within the industry and it was one of the first companies in Australia to transform from traditional machining methods to the EDM technology that has revolutionised toolmaking across the world.
In the 1980's EDM wire-cutting became the norm. Three of the latest Japanese EDM machines were purchased and the process of re-training both design and toolmaking personnel began.
It was in the 1980's that management could see a further chance to expand the business and a second company Balmic International Pty Ltd was born. Its primary focus was to sell and service products used in supporting the Metal Stamping Industry. Products included power presses, coil handling equipment, feeders and a comprehensive range of toolroom consumables.
This move transformed the group from a local based business to become a global company. It instigated a shift in philosophy that has seen the birth of the Metal Form Group in 2006
